Artemis Offers Multiproject Planning, To complete projects successfully, business managers need an effective project plan and ways to control costs, track resources, and analyze progress. Fortunately, Artemis Management Systems of Boulder, Colo., offers the Artemis Views(R) product suite to do exactly that. Founded in 1976, Artemis(R) is the world's largest provider of enterprise project and resource management software and consulting. Artemis offers a family of comprehensive multiproject planning, control, and tracking software solutions to organizations across a variety of industries. The $90 million company operates through its international network of 40 offices in more than 27 countries worldwide, serving over 3,000 customers. Views consists of four modules that address key areas of project management: ProjectView(R), TrackView(R), CostView(R), and GlobalView(R). Each provides a view of project data for participants with different project roles. All the project data is managed within a central project repository that can be stored within a selection of relational databases. The product's repository allows the system to provide information appropriate for the role of the project participant, while keeping the information consistent and eliminating time-consuming data reentry. With the SPR KnowledgePLAN tool, acquired by Artemis in 1999, project estimates can be created quickly. The Active Alert database monitoring application alerts specific people when events fall outside certain user-defined rules. Project managers use the primary module, ProjectView, for performing project scheduling and resource allocation and management. A bidirectional integration to Microsoft Project can be used in place of ProjectView, in certain environments. CostView is designed for detailed cost accounting and financial management, whereas TrackView enables project team members to receive task assignments and report project status. GlobalView furnishes an executive management overview of user-defined project status, cost, and resource metrics. The tool suite is augmented with the Artemis Project Management Methodology(R) (pm2), which is the company's internally developed implementation process. The product suite also exposes an API to allow integration with other enterprise business systems. One such integration has been coded to link with the ERP Project and resource module from Oracle Corp. Customers are in a range of industries, including banking and finance, telecommunications, aerospace and defense, utilities, oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, and engineering and construction. Artemis also offers professional project and resource management consulting to IT/IS and operational organizations using a structured methodology. Partners include Citrix, Oracle, Cognos, and Categoric. For more information, contact Artemis at 800-477-6648 or visit their Web site at www.artemispm.com.
