Sumo Logic, the leading cloud-native, machine data analytics platform that delivers continuous intelligence for modern applications, today announced its expansion of the Sumo Logic business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia-Pacific (APAC) to meet growing international demand for cloud-native machine data analytics. Specifically, the company accelerated its global investment in three key areas, including expanding its international sales team and two regional research and development (R&D) centers, deepening its partner ecosystem, and launching an Amazon Web Services (AWS) instance in Frankfurt, Germany to provide the infrastructure that gives customers a holistic view of global data.
Businesses of all sizes are transforming at an unprecedented pace in order to compete in the digital era, but are bogged down by legacy technologies and siloed processes and tools that are ill-equipped to handle the growing tsunami of machine data. Today’s modern enterprise must harness this data and turn it into continuous intelligence in order to make critical business decisions. Many of Sumo Logic’s international customers including Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Auto & General, Dome9, Ladbrokes Australia, Paf, Schibsted, Skyscanner, Toyota, Trend Micro, Virgin Money, Xero and others are leveraging machine data analytics to speed their innovation cycles, deliver the ultimate end-user experience and drastically improve the bottom line.
“In today’s digital analytics economy, leading enterprises are striving to deliver high performance, highly scalable and always-on digital services, built on custom modern architectures. The ability to derive real-time, machine data insights is a critical capability all businesses need in order to achieve this goal,” said Ramin Sayar, CEO, Sumo Logic. “Building on a strong base of more than 1,600 customers worldwide, we are accelerating international growth to bring continuous intelligence to new markets with investments in people, our partner ecosystem, and technology innovation to support customers on their digital journey and help them address growing use cases, including operational and security analytics, advanced machine learning, IoT, GDPR and more.”
Sumo Logic is expanding its global footprint in three key investment areas:
International Teams and R&D Centers
Sumo Logic doubled its international headcount over the past year with teams in Europe, Australia, Asia and India. In addition, the company has invested heavily in technology innovation with two R&D centers in Poland and India. These R&D centers are home to a growing team of engineers who are working on projects that will further enhance and extend the breadth and depth of Sumo Logic’s machine data analytics platform.
Strong Global Partner Ecosystem
Sumo Logic is significantly expanding its global partner presence with AWS and others to help organizations get real-time operational and security insights into their modern applications, while delivering the continuous intelligence needed to tackle their toughest challenges, including public cloud migration, the upcoming General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) deadline, Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance regulations and more. New partners include Ackcent Cybersecurity, Nordcloud, Cloud Technology Partners, GlobalDots, Opensky/TUV, Olindata, Sec-1/Claranet and Beeso IT, CMD Solutions, Datacom, RedBear IT and Vibrato.
“In an age of constant connectivity where business and technology are inseparable, we need industry leaders like Sumo Logic that are committed to building and maintaining a global partner ecosystem,” said Lluis Vera, CEO, Ackcent Cybersecurity. “We look forward to collaborating with Sumo Logic in an ongoing effort to arm our customers with the right tools and technology to stay abreast of evolving trends, and to meet their business and technology objectives.”
New AWS Frankfurt Data Center
Sumo Logic recently launched a fully operational AWS deployment in Frankfurt, Germany to provide new and existing customers access to a state-of-the-art, highly-available AWS data center to support provisioning accounts from both sumologic.com and the AWS Marketplace. Global enterprises who operate in Germany must comply with data sovereignty rules and keep certain data sets within German national boundaries. Sumo Logic’s newly launched Frankfurt footprint is another major step forward in providing global enterprises with a consistent, state-of-the-art, global view of their business while supporting country-specific data privacy and sovereignty rules such as Germany Privacy Rules and European Union (EU) regulations, such as the EU GDPR.
Sumo Logic, a recognized expert in building and operating massive multi-tenant, highly distributed cloud systems, is the industry’s first machine data analytics platform to natively ingest, index and analyze structured and unstructured data together in real-time. As one of the most powerful cloud-native services in the world, the Sumo Logic platform ingests and analyzes vast amounts of data and runs millions of queries every day, which powers tens of millions of insights for customers who rely on this type of continuous intelligence to more effectively build, run and secure their modern applications.
