Vector Software Announces VectorCAST/QA

02.23.2016

Vector Software, the world’s leading provider of innovative software solutions for embedded software quality, announced today VectorCAST/QA. VectorCAST/QA enables development teams to automate all test activities, shorten test times, and generate real-time metrics on release readiness.

VectorCAST/QA integrates with an organization’s existing build system and test infrastructure to collect key metrics such as code complexity, frequency of code changes, test case status, and code coverage information. No changes to the existing workflow or tools are required. Using data gathered from the build system and from monitoring system test activities, VectorCAST/QA identifies correlations between tests and code. As the code changes, it automatically computes the minimum set of tests required to provide complete testing of the changes.

“Much of business success is driven by actionable intelligence derived from accurate and up-to-date data,” commented John Paliotta, chief technology officer at Vector Software. “VectorCAST/QA provides development and QA engineers a single point of control for test activities as well as a wealth of data that can be used to make quality improvement and release decisions.”

Additional capabilities of VectorCAST/QA include:

Better test collaboration
– allows independent groups to share test cases and results. Test cases can be executed without users needing to learn new tools or processes. Connectors are configured once for each type of testing and then leveraged for continuous testing.

Integrated code coverage for completeness of current test activities
– automates capture and maintenance of code coverage data during testing, allowing users to quickly identify untested portions of the application and determine resources needed to improve testing thoroughness.

Change-based testing for reduced test cycle times – intelligently chooses the minimum subset of test cases needed for each code change and automatically runs those tests.

Change impact analysis for better decisions
– identifies the impact of a set of source code changes on the quantity of testing required, enabling developers to prioritize changes based on schedule pressures.

Continuous testing and delivery – easily integrates with continuous integration servers like Jenkins to allow tests to be distributed across a farm of physical or virtual test machines.

Real-time quality metrics – provides intelligence data on tests run vs. tests needed, release readiness, risk areas, and resource allocation.

VectorCAST/QA is immediately available to customers worldwide. For additional details please contact Vector Software at www.vectorcast.com.

Attendees of Embedded World 2016 can view a live demonstration of VectorCAST/QA at the Vector Software booth in Hall 4, Stand 250 at the Nuremberg Exhibition Center from February 23-25, 2016. A schedule is available here.
