Vesess Debuts Vgo – A Solution For Taxis To Compete with Uber

09.22.2015

Vesess, a leading provider of intuitive and fast software products today announced the general availability of Vgo, a new cloud-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) logistics technology platform that will help traditional taxi and logistic companies compete effectively against technology-driven competitors, such as Uber, in the transport scene.

Vgo is a powerful suite of web and mobile apps that dramatically improve the service quality of taxi, courier or logistics operations. Vgo provides clients with a web-based management app that can handle all their business operations, and web and mobile apps for consumers to enable fast and convenient booking. Both are fully customizable for each taxi or logistic firm and has simple and intuitive UIs that are easy to use. With Vgo, taxi companies can keep track of all vehicles and drivers in real time, accept online bookings, and get detailed reports on the overview of the fleet. The importance of Vgo’s service is evident in the 3 clients who have already signed up with more than 1,000 vehicles being managed by Vgo fleet management app.

“New entrants in the transportation space such as Uber are causing massive disruption and traditional taxi firms must either change with the times or become extinct,” said Lankitha Wimalarathna, CEO of Vesess Inc. “Traditional taxi and logistics companies understand that their business models are being made obsolete. Vgo gives them the tools and the workflows to improve their efficiency and quality of service, so that they can continue to grow in this competitive environment.”

Vgo’s features include online dispatch, driver and booking apps, web portals to serve corporate clients, fleet and staff management and billing and accounting. All Vgo accounts are SSL-encrypted, utilizing the same level of security used by online banks.

Vesess and a group of investors led by JIT Group, a leading information and communications technology firm in Sri Lanka, have jointly invested $1M in Vgo.
