Canon Information and Imaging Solutions, Inc. (CIIS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Canon U.S.A., Inc., today announced that the email and content management solutions offered by CIIS leveraging the mxHero platform now feature expanded capabilities. mxHero’s popular plugin for Microsoft Outlook can now integrate certain cloud and hybrid content management services into Outlook’s user interface.* The new capability allows users to search and open emails saved to users’ content management systems, such as Box, directly from Outlook.**
The email and content management offerings by CIIS bring together Canon’s information management expertise with mxHero’s email management platform capabilities, providing integrated solutions for industries including legal, healthcare, government, non-profit, and financial services.
Email remains one of the most challenging areas for organizations of all sizes to effectively manage and govern. The new mxHero plugin is designed to offer seamless access to the Box content management systems from the Outlook environment’s user interface. Users can simply drag & drop emails to their compatible cloud storage folders to trigger content organization, retention policies, automated workflows, and even artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities provided by the cloud storage service, to email content. Furthermore, new search capabilities allow users to search for saved messages using key words, recipient & sender address, and date ranges. Messages found through improved search capabilities can then be opened directly in Outlook for review, replying, etc.
