Information Builders Helps Healthcare Providers Improve Patient Care With Advanced Data Management Tools

04.12.2015

Today at the HIMSS Annual Conference and Expo, Information Builders, a leader in business intelligence (BI) and analytics, information integrity, and integration solutions, announced that its technology helps healthcare providers drive operational improvements, achieve meaningful use, and improve overall patient care.

The healthcare industry has seen substantial technology-driven changes in recent years, which has produced an influx of patient data originating from myriad sources, such as primary care providers, specialists, pharmacies, and insurance claims. Healthcare is also a highly regulated space, which adds additional complications related to patient privacy, data sharing, and electronic health record (EHR) management. To succeed in today’s complex healthcare industry, providers must have the tools to effectively manage, cleanse, and integrate massive amounts of data. Errors related to incorrect or siloed data sets could result in inaccurate patient records, harmful prescriptions, or failure to execute needed tests. To provide the highest quality care, hospitals and other healthcare providers must first ensure they have the highest quality data.

Information Builders’ intelligence, integrity, and integration solutions have helped numerous healthcare organizations improve operations and ensure top-quality care for patients. These customers include:

– RainTree Oncology, the nation’s leading community oncology alliance. RainTree is dedicated to helping physician groups improve cancer research and achieve better and more cost-effective treatment of cancer patients. RainTree partnered with Information Builders to develop a cloud-based analytics portal called OncoExplorer, which enables pharmaceutical organizations to analyze key clinical and administrative data from community oncology practices and track information such as oncology medications, pharmacy dispensing rates, and claims adjudication summaries. This allows participating practices to identify clinical patterns and patient treatment paths. As a result, researchers can follow a patient’s entire oncology journey, from diagnosis through treatment. In addition, the portal enables RainTree customers to assess usage patterns of leading therapies within a disease state, determine related outcomes, and form hypotheses related to the development of new therapies

– Memorial Health System, one of Illinois’ leading healthcare organizations. Memorial sought to create a unified information repository and reporting strategy to eliminate inconsistencies stemming from disparate EHR systems and disconnected spreadsheets, databases, and dashboards. To address this need, the company turned to Information Builders’ advanced master data management technology to create a single view of patients, providers, and other key business entities. The robust BI solutions enabled Memorial to execute deep reporting and analysis that wasn’t previously possible. As a result, the company will be seeing accelerated time-to-market, cost control, compliance, and improved accessibility to complete and consistent information. Working with Information Builders has helped Memorial created single golden record for each patient and improve overall care

“The healthcare industry is an exciting and dynamic space where effective data management, cleansing, and integration has the potential to significantly improve quality of life and even save the lives of countless patients,” said Gerald Cohen, president and CEO, Information Builders. “Information Builders is proud to help our healthcare clients provide the best care possible for their patients, and we congratulate RainTree Oncology and Memorial Health System, among many others, on their ongoing success in this area.”

Information Builders will be exhibiting at booth 4671 at HIMSS, where executives will be on hand to offer demos and chat about the role of BI and analytics in healthcare. Follow Information Builders on Twitter at @infobldrs for all the latest news and pictures, direct from the show floor.
