Information Builders Offers In-Document Analytics to Deliver Portable Business Intelligence to Employees, Partners and Customers

03.14.2016

Information Builders, a leader in business intelligence (BI) and analytics, information integrity, and data integration solutions, today announced from the Gartner Business Intelligence & Analytics Summit 2016 that its industry-leading self-service BI and analytics platform, WebFOCUS, provides the ability for users to leverage completely portable and disconnectedIn-Document Analytics.

In-Document Analytics,a patented technology of Information Builders, enables organizations to instantly package a data set with a combination of analytical views to provide highly intuitive and interactive self-service business intelligence. Users simply open a secure, self-contained HTML file that contains dynamic reports, charts, and dashboards. They can explore and interact with data using analytical functions such as charting, sorting, filtering, calculations, pivoting and roll-ups.Because this feature is completely portable and independent from servers, anyone can easily work with and analyze complex data without touching Excel or being connected to enterprise systems.

The solution can be leveraged in different ways to fit the needs of various types of users, including stakeholders outside the business. Organizations can transform static documents such as field sales reports, store performance reports, customer statements, and invoices, and make them actionable and dynamic, with built-in analysis and exploration of related data.

Among the compelling use cases for In-Document Analytics to improve the customer experience, organizations can use WebFOCUS to schedule a single job to create 10,000 personalized eStatements and email these password-protected analytical documents to individual customers. These customers can not only attain a status of their account but perform a number of additional actions such as what-if retirement planning and investment analysis.

In-Document Analytics, enabled by Information Builders’ patented analytics delivery capability, Active Technologies, is an out-of-the box capability in WebFOCUS that accelerates time to value and facilitates better decisions for more users.

Information Builders Chief Innovation Officer Dr. Rado Kotorov will deliver a presentation on In-Document Analytics at the Gartner BI & Analytics Summit on March 15 at 12:45 pm CST. In addition, Information Builders Chief Marketing Officer Michael Corcoran and Tim Brynda, Software Engineering Analyst for ACE Hardware, will deliver a joint presentation at the conference titled “For Self-Service BI and Analytics, ACE is the Place,” at 3 pm CST today.

“Businesses now have a mechanism to provide easy to use self-service BI and analytics to all users. In-Document Analytics enables organizations to deliver the power of BI and analytics in the most convenient and adaptable way possible by removing the requirement to work within the confines of formats and enterprise networks,” said Gerald Cohen, president and CEO of Information Builders. “Dynamic, self-contained analytical documents that can be widely distributed and that encourage interactive analysis is the future of BI. No other vendor can offer this user experience backed by a flexible, scalable and secure enterprise BI platform.”

Information Builders is exhibiting at booth 407 at the Gartner BI and Analytics Summit at the GaylordTexan Hotel &Convention Center in Grapevine, TexasMarch 14-16. Executives will be on hand to offer demos and chat about self-service BI and in-document analytics.
