MobileIron and ThinPrint Partner to Bring Managed and Secure Mobile Printing to Enterprises

5.18.18

MobileIron, the secure foundation for modern work, and ThinPrint, the print management experts, have entered into a technology partnership to enable mobile printing for MobileIron customers. The enhanced cooperation can be managed and rolled out to users via the MobileIron solution. ThinPrint Mobile Print, which ThinPrint will present at MobileIron Live! user conference in Berlin from May 16-17, is now available in the MobileIron Marketplace.

MobileIron enables enterprises to secure and manage modern operating systems in a world of mixed-use mobile devices and desktops. To enable mobile printing, ThinPrint has implemented the AppConfig standard. This means that the ThinPrint Mobile Print app can be easily pre-configured and rolled out via MobileIron. Customers can now manage printing from their smartphones and tablets.

The ThinPrint solution enables printing to all existing network printers, regardless of printer model or manufacturer. A significant advantage for IT departments is that rights and printer assignments for mobile users can be adopted from Microsoft Active Directory or from print servers and modified accordingly if necessary.

This ensures that every authorized employee can also use the same printers that they access from their desktop – all directly from their iPhones, iPads and Android devices in just a few simple steps.

“We’re delighted to be working with a leading Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) provider like MobileIron,” said Thorsten Hesse, CPO at ThinPrint. “For MobileIron users, this integration closes an important gap when it comes to mobile productivity.”

“Modern work needs modern solutions. By partnering with ThinPrint, we provide our customers with a mobile print app that allows their authorized users to print documents directly from their authorized iOS and Android devices without any complex configurations,” said Peter Machat, vice president of Central EMEA, MobileIron.
