SAP Now Integrated with Office 365, Sharepoint & Azure

9.08.2016

The fast-growing number of cloud-based Microsoft SaaS applications, like Office 365, SharePoint Online, Office Groups, Dynamics CRM, and Azure Flow / Logic Apps, are offering great features at an attractive pay-as-you-go price. But how to make local enterprise data sources like SAP available for cloud data integration? With its Cloud Connector, Layer2 now offers a locally running Windows Service that is able to connect and sync 100+ widely used IT-systems and apps without any programming in just minutes based on pre-defined templates, e.g. via OData web services as offered by SAP NetWeaver. The solution comes with an easy to use management interface to set up connections, map data fields, schedule data synchronizations, and provide flexible logging with just a few clicks. No changes are required in SAP, the local network or the connected apps. In addition, version 7 now fully supports “Dynamic Columns” based on C# to add data calculations, transformations, and customer-specific business logic directly to the synchronization. The connector simply keeps data in sync, one-way or even two-way, with flexible create, update, and delete options as well as synchronization conflict management.

The easy way to make SAP data available for cloud-based apps
After synchronization to the cloud, SAP data can be always up-to-date and used without any restrictions as a valid base for collaboration, for reporting in custom views or dashboards, for search, for mobile and offline access via apps, to raise change notifications, or start workflows on local SAP data change. Microsoft SharePoint Online or on-premises, Flow or Azure Logic Apps can be used to add even more features and connectivity options.

Get integration done faster with SAP for a much better price
The solution reduces the dependency on corporate IT and directly empowers departmental subject-matter experts to get integration projects done faster with SAP due to significantly reduced complexity, risks, and costs. No need to change anything in the connected systems or the local network, no need for user CALs or volume-related costs – just a low-priced one-time fee for installation-based licensing.

Regional VAR partners can help with implementation
Prospects can download the Layer2 Cloud Connector after registration as a completely free Shareware Edition on the vendor’s homepage. More than 200 certified regional Layer2 VAR partners are ready to support customers.
