Vision Solutions Unveils New Managed Resilience Service

10.17.17

Vision Solutions, a leading provider of business resilience solutions for IBM Power Systems, which was recently combined with Syncsort, announced today the availability of its expanded managed resilience offering, designed to manage critical resilience operations, including high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR) and now security. The latest offering builds upon the existing managed service offerings from Vision Solutions, including day-to-day management of MIMIX, iTERA, OMS/ODS and Enforcive environments to ensure systems remain protected and available.

“Business resilience requires a multi-layered strategy, combining HA/DR, security and managed services to envelop and protect critical systems and data, whether at rest or in motion,” said Terry Plath, Vice President, Global Services, Syncsort. “While organizations often purchase applications for HA/DR and security with the intent of handling tasks in-house, many quickly realize this may not be the best approach for a variety of reasons, from limited IT staff to lack of requisite expertise. Vision Solutions delivers the special skillsets required and removes burdens from IT staff by handling the day-to-day management of resilient environments.”

The new managed resilience offering provides a host of benefits for organizations, including:
• Proactive HA/DR and security expertise and customer support, affording an extra layer of protection against continuity issues driven by factors like an aging and retiring workforce
• Leading technology with automatic upgrades, system maintenance and regulatory compliance, reducing burdens on internal IT teams
• Affordability through varying levels of support that scales to meet needs and budgets
• Peace of mind for both IT teams and executives that their critical operations are in good hands

Vision Solutions’ 2017 State of Resilience Report revealed that 84% of professionals had no recovery plan or were less than 100% confident their recovery plan was complete, tested, and able to meet recovery time and recovery point objectives. Meanwhile, major security breaches have made headlines, including an Equifax breach which exposed sensitive personal information of more than 143 million Americans. Revelations and events like these highlight the value of turning these critical resilience operations over to a trusted managed services provider.
