WSG Systems Corp. (WSG) announced the release of a new version of its cloud-based Empire SUITE, the award-winning professional services automation software. The update introduces Empire WORKFLOW 1.0, the first workflow solution designed from inception with resource scheduling integrated to help firms work more efficiently and deliver better results. Empire WORKFLOW also features automated re-scheduling of activities based on what is actually occurring (e.g., schedule changes, late starts, or early finishes).
“Workflow is a challenge for companies across a vast array of business sectors,” said Bill Cornfield, WSG President and founder. “The issue, however, is that workflow software without integrated resource scheduling, and automated re-scheduling, is not much different from a checklist. Combining the two functions allows managers to match resources with projects and activities in real time based on staff availability, capacity and experience.”
Workflow software can help a firm better track due dates, manage accountability, reduce bottlenecks and prevent over and under-utilization. Empire SUITE’s scheduling platform is designed with an open API, allowing integration with any open workflow system. An optimization upgrade is planned for September 2015 which will have the capability to determine what staff is the “best fit” based on additional factors such as level of proficiency or prior customer relationships.
In addition to Empire WORKFLOW 1.0, WSG has added features for Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and resource scheduling such as improved opportunity management and additional scheduling views. Other enhancements include upgraded dashboard capabilities, tax jurisdiction and multiple company support. The full Empire SUITE includes Empire TIME, Empire MOBILE, Empire RESOURCE, Empire PROJECT and Empire CALENDAR. Its comprehensive and tightly-integrated web-based functionality increases project profitability and productivity, improves cash flow and reduces administrative costs.
