Consolidated Communications Enhances DDoS Mitigation Solution

4.15.19

Consolidated Communications, a leading broadband and business communications provider today announced it has made important enhancements to its Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) Mitigation solution, expanding the scope and scale of scrubbing center capacity and increasing network throughput capacity.

Consolidated’s DDoS Mitigation solution uses an innovative, multi-stage approach to monitor, detect and mitigate the most complex DDoS attacks, helping businesses to identify and thwart intrusions before they cause costly business disruptions. Consolidated’s latest enhancements double the number of the Company’s scrubbing centers across the country. The developments also increase network capacity throughput, providing businesses more choices for even better protection against large-scale attacks.

“By enhancing our DDoS Mitigation solution with added scrubbing and throughput capacities, businesses partnering with Consolidated Communications will experience a more advanced level of DDoS protection,” said Doug Abolt, vice president of commercial product management at Consolidated Communications. “A recent report by NetScout suggests the number of global DDoS attacks increased by 26 percent in 2018, with the size of attacks growing by 19 percent. With the increased frequency, it’s paramount that businesses are prepared to guard against these threats. Consolidated takes a comprehensive approach to security with multi-layer protection and partnership with industry leaders to provide exceptional protection for businesses.”

When a potential DDoS attack is detected, the customer’s traffic is quickly diverted to one of Consolidated’s sophisticated scrubbing centers for filtering to remove malicious traffic and ensure that only clean traffic is passed back to the network for delivery. As DDoS attacks continue to grow in number and size, Consolidated has expanded the scope and scale of scrubbing capacities to provide more nimble and agile DDoS filtering and protection.

As DDoS attacks also become more complex, it’s important for businesses of all sizes to partner with experienced teams, like Consolidated Communications, to protect uptime and mitigate the risks associated with malicious attacks. Consolidated’s turnkey installation and proactive monitoring makes it easy, while ensuring increased productivity and cost savings for businesses.
