Smartsheet Launches Card View to Empower Teams to Work More Visually

06.23.2016

Smartsheet, the collaborative work management application used by millions of people worldwide, today unveiled Card View, a powerful new innovation for managing work in a highly-visual way. For people and teams that want to work more visually, and situations where a highly-visual view is most appropriate, Card View provides a powerful new way to see, share, and act on work. Card View is a new view available to all customers, joining the award-winning Grid, Calendar, and Gantt views and the dashboard-like capability of Sights.

“Our customers – especially enterprise customers – voiced their desire for a solution that offers the opportunity to work and collaborate in more visual ways,” said Mark Mader, president and CEO of Smartsheet. “Modern collaboration for teams requires multiple intuitive approaches that meet the preferences of different teams and individuals to accelerate project and process success. With the launch of Card View, we’re empowering customers to meet the needs of more visual and agile users.”

Evidence shows that visuals are a fundamental element of collaborative work. According to a recent Work Visualization Survey by Smartsheet, close to two-thirds of business professionals – leaders, executive decision makers and IT staff – prefer to use Kanban and/or task boards in the workplace. Within the collaborative landscape, several suppliers of project management tools have also entered the marketplace with standalone features that attempt to harness this visual approach, including Trello and Microsoft Planner. Smartsheet expands on these current offerings with Card View by providing multiple views into work and delivering process-centric capabilities such as conditional logic and support for calculations.

Card View provides teams a more visual way to work, communicate, and collaborate. Key features include:

• Configurable Cards: Display rich information including custom fields, images, color coding and formulas in categorized lanes of Cards to concisely focus individual and team attention.
• Multiple Views: Intuitively switch among multiple Card View lane categories such as the status of tasks, or different teams involved, to look at the flow of work from alternative perspectives.
• Visual Prioritization: Change priority and status of work by dragging and dropping Cards, enabling transparency into the impact of your decisions on schedules and bottlenecks.
• Trello Import: Trello users now have the ability to instantaneously import and access all of their valuable data/information within Card View.
